On this holy night God stepped out of heaven to become a child, to dwell with us, to enjoin the cosmic battle that would defeat the powers of darkness and death, and to remove the burden of our sin. This momentous night is not just for sentimental remembering, but for celebrating the mystery of the Word made flesh by which God changed the world. Jesus, Mary’s Son, is also our infant King, Lord of heaven and earth and space, and Savior of the world. Come, let us adore him, joining the hosts of heaven in songs of wonder and praise.
