Sept. 1, 2013: Living With Unexplainable Trouble
Today, being the first Sunday of the month, we celebrated Communion before the sermon.
Pastor Jerry speaks from the book of Job about why good people have bad experiences. If God is all-powerful, and if He is loving, and if He cannot do any wrong, why does He let His followers suffer? This is not an easy topic to deal with, in part, because we do not have full knowledge of God's plan. And, yet, at the same time, we can draw comfort from that: God IS good, and He IS all-powerful. He will not put us through more than we can bear, and the result will always be His glory. God doesn't have to tell us why He does what He does, but we are responsible for how we respond to what God allows. Will we trust Him through difficult times? Will we become bitter? will we praise Him? Will we give up?
